A characterful antique Chinese trunk from Shandong province, hand painted in rich tones of green and red. The front panel features a peaceful riverside scene, with trees, a delicate bridge, and intricate floral motifs, symbols of harmony and natural balance. More floral decorations adorn the lid, framed by dark stained pine that brings warmth and grounding to the piece.
The clever half-opening lid is a practical design detail that allows for easy access even when placed snugly against a wall or at the foot of a bed, ideal for use as a storage trunk, decorative blanket box, or occasional bench.
