Description
A striking and unusual pair of vintage wooden Fu dogs from Shanxi province, made from poplar wood and dating to around 1940. These powerful guardian lions were traditionally placed at the entrance of temples or homes for protection and good fortune.
Carved with great character, each piece features bold facial expressions, curled manes, and symbolic details—one resting its paw on a ball, the other on a playful cub. Their aged, timeworn finish and traces of old pigment give them a rustic charm that works beautifully in classic or eclectic interiors.
Display them on a console, mantel, or shelf to bring strength, style, and a little mythical magic to your space.
