The YINYI cabinet is an outstanding example of early 20th-century craftsmanship from Shandong province, China. Made around 1930, this antique piece combines intricate carving, graceful painting, and a striking colour palette to create a piece full of character and historical beauty.
Its bold red lacquer finish symbolises prosperity and joy, while the carved florals and delicate hand-painted details add warmth and elegance. The top surface shows beautifully aged lacquer with natural wear that adds authenticity and a sense of time passed.
