Soapstone is a soft rock carved by the Chinese for centuries, still using the same techniques today. It's known as one of the most luxurious rocks to carve because of its beautiful translucence and texture. Soapstone can be carved into a variety of shapes and sizes. It's soft enough to carve with simple tools yet hard enough to hold its shape over time.
