Do you actually go to the Far East to source products?
Yes, Orchid's founders, Jemma & Mimmi travel regularly to the orient. We are passionate about establishing long-term relationships with suppliers who we have met and in most cases know very well. We inspect the working environment and conditions, as well as the methods used in both manufacturing and restoration. Orchid’s staff occasionally join these trips in order to have first hand knowledge of Orchid’s products and their origins.
Are Orchid’s Antiques investment pieces?
No, we don’t suggest that the restored Chinese furniture will increase in value. But we feel these pieces are special in that they each have a story to tell and the provenance shines through on each piece. The restoration processes sympathetically replaces and matches wood, lacquer and brassware where necessary, resulting in a charming piece of history being saved for a new life.
Buying from Orchid
Is your website secure for online payments?
Yes – Orchid uses SagePay to process credit-card payments. SagePay is one of the leading UK payment providers and are fully PCI compliant. We encrypt our payment page with a 256-bit maximum grade SSL certificate which ensures that no-one can obtain your personal details while they are authorised by your bank. We only ever store a payment reference number and NEVER store your credit-card details.
If I see a piece I like on line, can I see it before I buy?
Yes of course – call us with details of the piece(s) you’ve fallen for and we will tell you which store they are in. If necessary, we will transport pieces to your preferred store, in either Hampshire or London - however we may need 3 – 4 days notice to transfer items for viewing.
If I change my mind about my purchase can I cancel my order and get a refund?
Yes – Orchid’s no quibble, money-back guarantee means risk free shopping, so if you change your mind after ordering, you have 14 days to notify Orchid in store, by phone or by email, or when your order is delivered, simply contact us and follow our returns policy.
How do I know if an item is in stock?
All the Antiques on the website are in stock. As they are one-off pieces, as soon as they are sold they will be deleted from the website. We will be delighted to tell you in which store particular antiques are displayed so please contact us if you wish to visit to view specific pieces. Regular items which are out of stock, other than Antiques, will indicate when new stock is expected or offer to email you when the stock arrives, please contact either store for details.

Orchid’s beautiful 2-storey Kings Road store is located at the eastern end of the King’s Road, (outside the Congestion zone), just before it becomes the New Kings Road with close by meter parking.
The Stockbridge store is just over a mile outside Stockbridge (not in Stockbridge itself) which is 10 minutes from Winchester and 1 ½ hours from south-west London, 15 minutes from the A303. The Old Barn is on a beautiful private country estate where these is plenty of parking, ideal for those with children and those wanting a peaceful and un-hurried browse in our magnificent 3-storey barn overflowing with wonderful pieces.
Does Orchid deliver anywhere?
Yes – Orchid delivers worldwide. Delivery prices quoted on the website are for mainland UK only. For details of deliveries other than to a UK mainland address, please contact the delivery team on 01264 811111 or email email@example.com
When will I get my delivery?
For items which are in stock Orchid endeavours to deliver within 15 working days of your purchase, which in reality is often faster. Once your transaction is completed you will be contacted by a member of our delivery team who will arrange a date and time slot on a weekday between 10 - 5.30 pm . Dependant upon the destination, your order will be delivered by Orchid’s in-house delivery team or a sub-contracted courier company. See full delivery details here
Do you sell to the Trade?
Orchid has a substantial and increasing number of trade clients, including interior designers, architects, hotels, TV & Film sets, and the corporate sector. Trade purchases cannot be processed online – please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Before discussing trade terms you will need to return a fully completed Trade form including your VAT number.
Do you sell to the trade overseas?
Yes - Orchid has a number of trade clients in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.
Can I have samples to show my clients?
We supply a colour chart for lacquer colour reference. We can also supply details of brass and hardware colours and style examples. However we do not have samples of items which can be removed from our premises. We are always delighted to welcome your clients to view and discuss items or information in store on your behalf.
Bespoke Services & Antique Sourcing
Will you make something to a different size or colour?
Yes. Orchid’s bespoke service will reproduce virtually any piece to the size or colour of your choice. Orchids’ staff are qualified to discuss your requirements and to ensure that your expectations are understood and met. From order confirmation to delivery you will be regularly updated with news of your order’s progress.
I have an antique in mind which I would love – can you help me find it?
Because of our wealth of knowledge, experience and contacts we can usually source a piece if you have your heart set on an antique rather than a reproduction piece. Call or visit either showroom to discuss your wished for piece and we will email images and costs of potential matches.
Supposing I don’t like the antique you found for me?
That is a very unlikely scenario as we will have discussed your requirements in detail with you prior to ordering. However if it arrives and you’re not happy then we will refund your payment (minus any delivery charges). Bespoke, made to measure orders however cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded
