Meditating Buddha in smooth polished wood. The hand position denotes the Vitarka Mudra Buddha, signifying teaching and reason. The circle made with the index finger and thumb, initially made with the right hand, is often later portrayed with both hands, the Vitarka Mudra can be made in the sitting or standing positions.
