Bespoke Service

Orchid’s commissioning service offers the services of the in-house design and sourcing team to produce exactly the piece you need.

From order to delivery this service normally takes no more than 12 weeks, dependent upon shipping schedules.

Teak furniture: Any pieces from Orchid’s O Collection or Teak Classics can be reproduced to your size requirements, and finished in either natural or dark brown teak as displayed on Orchid’s website and in-store.

Chinese elm furniture: For a rich gloss finish, furniture will be produced in Chinese elm, lacquered to your colour choice. Pieces from the Mandarin Collection and the Chinese Classics can be produced to your chosen size and colour.

Chinese antique furniture: Orchid’s sourcing team have established relationships with several antique restorers in China – each specialise in a particular style and finish. We will endeavour to find the right piece restored to your colour preference. Inspiration may be found in Orchid’s Originals Collection.

The Bespoke and Sourcing Process

The Discussion and brief

Orchid’s experienced and knowledgeable staff, at the Hampshire and Chelsea showrooms, will be delighted to discuss your requirements, and advise where necessary.

At this stage we will produce examples of wood, colour and finish will help you with the visual concept. Examples of these can also been seen both in-store and on Orchid’s website.

In the case of sourcing original Chinese antiques, pieces in-store or photographs of original pieces, will be used as a style guide.

Production and Finishing

Your assigned Orchid associate will establish the most suitable manufacturer, or restorer, to whom your requirements will be supplied.

For a sourced antique, images of suitable pieces will be provide with details of history, wood, dimensions and of course price.

For reproduced pieces scale drawings will be produced for your approval prior to manufacture.

Upon receipt of your deposit manufacture, or the restoration of an antique, will begin and your furniture will be assigned to the next available shipment.

Delivery

On arrival in the UK your furniture will be delivered to Orchid’s workshops where the each piece will be checked. Upon receipt of the balance payment your furniture will be delivered to any UK address.

Orchid also delivers overseas.
